Comfort is key. This year has been OK in terms of overly hot days. I shouldn’t complain too much. I’ve been in a classroom on a second story before, my current school is only 1 story.
Today I had A/C installed in my home. Now I just have to get my car a/c fixed (not likely to happen on the 9 year old accent) & my classroom (not an option). I understand why schools do not have a/c. With summers off and an added expense it is something to help save a little money. But what about comfort…
The heat can be a constant source of issues during the final weeks of school. Students have a difficult time regulating themselves when they are outside. I do too…coming in provides little relief when the humidity reaches 35+.
What do you do to keep it cool in the classroom? Should schools be afforded a budget to install A/C?
